"Fool's Gold," starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, won the weekend crown at the domestic box office, grossing an estimated $22 million from 3,125 theaters and coming in right where expected.
Placing second was the Martin Lawrence comedy "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins," which opened at an estimated $17.1 million from 2,386 theaters.
The Disney digital 3-D pic "Hannah Montana/Cyrus Miley: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," which opened at $31.1 million, declined 66% to an estimated $10.5 million from 683 theaters for a whopping per screen average of $15,295 and a total of $53.4 million.
No one was quite sure what "Hannah Montana" would do the second time out, since it was initially scheduled to play for just one week. Disney extended its run indefinitely after the surprisingly high debut.
On the specialty side, "Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show" couldn't pull in an audience during its opening, grossing an estimated $507,277 from 962 theaters for a meager per screen average of $527.
Focus Features, on the other hand, saw a strong opening for "In Bruges," which stars Colin Farrell, grossing an estimated $471,200 from 28 theaters for a per screen aveage of $16,829.
