This minor 1955 work by Alfred Hitchcock, one of the lighter entries of his creative peak in the 1950s, is still imbued with the master's stock themes of shared guilt and romantic ambivalence. It is a...( read more

Worth finding and watching!
To say this is a thriller is a bit off the mark, I would rather say this is a suspense comedy, it isn´t a full blown com,edy of course but it is one of Hitchcock´s funniest he ever did and it is also one filled with alot of effortless class. Cary Grant and the beautiful Grace Kelly spark off eachother. Cary Grant plays a retired thief John "The Cat" Robie but is immedietely blamed when jewellery is stolen and has to catch the copycat to clear himself, cat and mouse games ensue. To Catch a Thief is Hitchcock at his best and one of his most beautiful movies.
This is my favourite of the old fun chic 50's film. A sheer vacation, with brilliant filmmaking to booth. Plus Grace Kelly has never been more beautiful.
