Surprisingly good after all those years for Harrison. Im just a little dissapointed they made it too kid-friendly. The other "Indiana's" were almost teen-to-adult oriented. And what little kid has really seen the other Indiana's anyways?
One of the most boring movies I've seen in a long time. Things just "happened", without any respect to physics, human behavior, or even precedent set by the movie. One minute something will be one way, then all of the sudden, without any reason, it'll become something else.
[Hints at plotpoints are below, though, it's nothing you won't be able to predict on your own]
Fabric blocked magnetism, Gunpowder is magnetic, but guns aren't, vines are faster than speeding cars, a traitor said he was "just pretending" - so he wasn't a traitor anymore. A car runs everyone over, but they were ducking, so it's okay. Indiana Jones is hit with a nuclear bomb and thrown through the structure of a destroyed building miles from the explosion in an unsealed refrigerator, only to climb out to witness the mushroom cloud from the ground... and he's left without a scratch. (Yes, seriously). That all seems perfectly reasonable to me, don't you agree?
This reminded me quite a bit of an old cartoon... like the roadrunner; An anvil is dropped on the coyote's head, so he's woozy for a moment and then shrugs it off while his nemesis speeds away. The coyote is only able to catch up to him by jumping on the rocket he pulls out of his pocket he didn't think to use before, but just as the rocket catches up to the roadrunner, it takes on a life of its own and runs itself into the ground.
I can watch a few minutes of that, but 2 hours is a little much.
Oh yeah, and what's with the self destruct button on every building in these movies?
These issues are excusable for the time period the originals came out. (I remember liking the originals) It's more in-tune with the surrealism common for that time, but now, there's no excuse. Movies are not like this nowadays.
I'm sorry, but you don't just get hit with a nuclear bomb and then make a mystical journey to discover a city others have devoted their lives to finding and failed, any more than a group of 6 Russians can take over a whole heavily guarded US military camp - without any casualties - in a matter of minutes. This movie is ridiculous from the first moment on. The plot is tired and overdone. The storyline is predictable, the comedy is nonexistent. The special effects are mediocre. The acting is sub-par.
This movie is an absolute waste of 2 hours, in every conceivable way.
this movie was awesome
but i hated it when he got married lol
but i sitll luved it
harrison ford still got his moves
After 18 years, a surprising continuation of the original 3 indy films has hit the screen, with harrison ford still playing the main part. It was promising, keeping the theme of the original films right down to the oldschool paramount logo. it is just as exciting as the others, made spectacular by new age CGI, and 18 years definately hasn't weakened the acting strength of harrison ford, and once again he kept us on the edge of our seat when the action got thick and laughing with his familiar humor. It was definately worht continuing the franchise after so long.
Watch out!!!
Worst ever... don't waste a penny...
Lucas and Spielberg should be ashamed of themselves
I liked this one, different to the old ones-not a classic, but appealed to a younger newer audience. Also liked the reference to his age, i think it reminded people that he's is getting older and therefore won't be displaying the same phsyical'action skills' as the others, also it opened the way for a new generation.
I was kind of disappointed with this one.. it wasn't bad, but it just didn't feel like Indiana Jones to me. George Lucas wrote the story, and I usually love his stuff, but if he wants to write sci-fi,then he should stick to Star Wars. I understand the beliefs behind Crystal Skull, but they didn't actually have to bring it to life in the movie.
"Money Making Machine... Piece of Crap..
