I liked Rupert Grints character in the first, second and some of the 3rd one but hes character faded with the sarcastic humour which was the only thing keeping me awake!
Nice, amazing film! at firs i didnt think much of it, but recently saw it again. I liked the characters and the plot alot! and am familiar with the books.. just 2 things which ticked me off
1. Those posh "english" accents make me want to punch the actors, its an insult to me!
2. They ripped the name harry potter off of the character in 1986 movie Troll whichis very similar in story line indeed.
During my long movie viewing career, there has been a few film moments of Movie Magic, where a film has been so spectacular that it feels truly magical. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is one such film. As a child and an avid reader of Harry Potter series before they became famous, it was a magical experience for me watching for the first time, the day the film came out in that dark cinema. Looking at it now I see the same qualities that made the film so magical. The story more than anything makes the film what it is but seeing your imagination realised, from book to film so perfectly I still stand in awe. The great British cast, the score by Williams and the forever young simplicity and magic of the story make this an all time great film.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was a good movie. The casting for the movie was appropriate and everyone played the part of there character really well. The special effects was one of the peaks for the movie and the soundtrack was well composed by John Williams.
I am a big fan of Harry Potter. The books are amazing. The author' imagination is mind boggling. Its a rare feat to bring such imaginative work to screen in such fine detail. Place this alongside Lord of the Rings.

The film strikes a very magical tone and is very faithful to the novel. The characters are perfectly cast and the film captures the perfect essence and mood of the book....
Columbus brought to life the magical world of Hogwarts and the Harry Potter universe in a beautiful way. This film should satisfy Potter fans, and it lives up to expectations..
I found it a highly entertaining and quite inspired adaptation of the book..
Great cast + great plot + great special effects = great movie!. The young ones shine amongst seasoned actors such as Alan Rickman (exactly how I'd imagined Snape to be) and Maggie Smith (perfect McGonagall (sp?))...
Was a good film. I can see why kids and adults really like it.I've never read the books but I really enjoyed the film. Has a great story and a great supporting cast.
Well-made and reasonably faithful adaptation of JK Rowling's engrossing books, this was highly enjoyable magical fantasy and got the franchise off to a great start
this might have been the best of the movies, cuz snape was a jerk and dumbledore was awesome, which is how it is in the book, so while its not the most exciting movie, it fit with the book best i thought.....
ok flick - unfortunately ended up being key points from each chapter in the book stuck together with no real flow and a lot of the book left out. But as a film - it's ok. Characterisation and casting is exceptional.
