ok flick - unfortunately ended up being key points from each chapter in the book stuck together with no real flow and a lot of the book left out. But as a film - it's ok. Characterisation and casting is exceptional.

I give it a 4 for the acting. Yes the acting of the 3 main characters. This is when they first started out and they were still learning. Actually most of the young actors in the film were. The editing of the film from book to movie however I would give a 5 star.

MCT:September 28, 2008This movie hardly does the book justice. Important parts of the movie were omitted or altered in some way in order to stay within the time line of the movie. The director and producer of this movie seemingly didn't care very much about staying true to the story. I am very disappointed!!!

11 year old boy named Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is living with his negligent relatives, the Dursleys is invited to start attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Harry learns from a mysterious stranger named Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) is actually a wizard on his 11th birthday is a famous in the wizardry world for surviving an attack by the evil dark Lord Voldemort , when Harry was only a year old. Voldemort killed Harry's parents but his attack on Harry failed, leaving onlya lightning bolt scar on Harry's forehead. Harry meets his new friends: Ronald "Ron" Weasley (Rupert Grint) & Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) on the train @ Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 3/4.

Made me fall in love with the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Consequently, I started reading the books and found them to be the first novels I enjoyed reading as much as I enjoy watching movies. J.K. Rowling is a genius!

An uninspired introduction to the HP world. If you must, read the book instead. Or just skip the francise altogether and save yourself the trouble.

I like the Harry Potter movies. I seen these Harry Potter movies more than once. I like thiem becuse their really good an awesome movies. I am also a total Harry Potter fan.

Chris Columbus really did capture the wide-eyed amazing brilliance tht kids felt when they'd enter hogwarts 4 the 1st time.he was a good director.and his style and Cuaron's are the best so far.Kloves wrote characters brilliantly too.
Sos though not my fave was the 1st hp movie out and made me see what a handsome guy dan will grow up into!of cuz.Emma's beauty,only became more pronounced and heightened as years went by.posted 209 days ago -

I don't know if anyone else is aware of this or not but supposedly jk rowling had a deal worked out with the movie studio in her contract with them that only British actors could play all of the roles throughout all of the seven films, which is the damned dumbest thing that I've ever heard!!
This is the main reason why I think the first movie sucked. They had subpar actors bc that wench decided to be stupid with that particular stipulation that she managed to manipulate into her contract, and so the movie(s, all of them no doubt) suffered!
You didn't see the Tolkien estate make such stupid and bumbling demands when they were putting the contract together for The LOTR's films, did you? And those movies were awesome!!!posted 262 days ago -
