Plot: Two years after the events in "Final Fantasy VII", a disease called 'Seikon-Shoukougun', or 'Geostigma', is spreading through the planet. This disease is believed to have been caused by the body fight...( read more read more... )ing off foreign material that invaded the body two years earlier, at the end of "Final Fantasy VII". Guilt-ridden and haunted by his past, ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife has decided to live a secluded, solitary life away from his friends while maintaining "Strife's Delivery Service", whose headquarters is located in Tifa Lockheart's bar, the Seventh Heaven. Tifa's bar serves as an orphanage for children stricken with Geostigma. Here, Tifa keeps an eye on Barret's six-year-old daughter, Marlene, while Barret searches the planet for an alternative energy source to the Planet's energy, Mako. One day, Cloud receives a phone call from the former Shinra, Inc. president, Rufus, asking him for protection from a mysterious man named Kadaj. Kadaj, in the meantime, along with his brothers Loz and Yazoo, are searching for their "mother", and seem to believe that Cloud knows where to find her. Meanwhile, Vincent Valentine has been wandering the planet gathering information on Kadaj's scheme, and Cloud and his friends must come together again to fight these new enemies.

Dissappointing, boring and ridiculous movie. It's a pity considering it's based on probably the most beautiful Final Fantasy ever. The movie is a simple, plain silly sequel of the fantastic Final Fantasy VII, and simply pretends to bring back the nostalgia on what indeed are familiar, classic characters like Cloud, Tifa, Aerith and Sephirot... but the rest (apart from the technical stuff) is shit.

an amazing movie. It's hardcore action was balanced out by a complex story line. makes little sense without playing the game, but it still is very powerful.

The 3D is very good. But audience will get confused since the prequel plot is int he form of game. So for those who haven't played FF7, be prepared to get confused

If you haven't played FFVII, don't bother. If you have played it, but its not in your Top 5 games of all time (at least), then don't bother. Pretty much, you have to be in love with the game to like this film. The dubbing is terrible and there's really only 2 good scenes in the whole movie (one of which is BS).

This movie is awesome-ness. It has really cool battle scenes. My favourite of them all, because I'm biased towards Final Fantasy-related stuff... I've been watching it again and again ever since I got myself a copy of it...

It was good Final Fantasy, not that great of a movie. Now if they only would have done one based on FFX....

I need to get a better copy of this, but it was pretty cool. The subtitles were horrible, but I got the gist of it. I felt like I should've had a controller though when I was watching it, but I'm a big fan of the game and of most of the other FF series. But come on, how badass does a game have to be, that it gets a CG movie made out of it? Nothing fucking lame like Tomb Raider..

Very good animation, but a tad long with some of the fight scenes. The movie just seemed to drag a little bit to me.

The poor storyline doesn't help this film to avoid oblivion.I love Final Fantasy games but this is a sequel reminding me the disgrace of new Hollywood and their clones, ultimately leading to this sort of genre. It's impossible to control your script when there's none whatsoever element of linear, some fight scenes and quirky phrases won't save it.Stick to FFVII the game.

I think the graphics are amazing. Cloud's eyes with the mako are stunning to look at. The whole movie just enthralled me, and the angst at the end was even better.

Let's be honest here. It's not exactly the grestest movie ever made. In fact in a lot of ways it's just plain awful.

A disjointed storyline and many jumbled up sequences spoil this film. The scenes with Rude and Reno are shockingly poor and embarrassingly don't work at all! And the less said about the mutterings of Loz and Yazoo the better. Cloud is only enjoyable to watch when he's kicking the crap outta bad guys. Which is never good when he's your lead flipping character! Thank God for Kadaj. That kid rules.

On the plus side! The animation, fight scenes and soundtrack are all stunning. In fact the soundtrack is in a league of it's own. Sephiroth steals the show though. One of the most iconic, recognized and famous villains in video game history doesn't fail to deliver. I gave a whole star is JUST for his part of the film!

Not a fan of the games, and the story line wasn't the greatest. But you have to give it to the Japanese they know how to do their anime!

The Sequel to the famous video game. Unfortunately, you have to play the video game to even understand what is going on, the significance of the characters, and the story in general. I'm working on the game now; sadly, a decade after the game was created.

I didn't play the game (a little before my time, unfortunately) but I still understood what was going on. If you do enough research and get obsessed like I do... :)

I've heard rumors that they're considering remaking FF7 for the PS3, but Crisis Core is the last announced title for the series...so I hope they do a remake. Since I realize I'll never get my hands on the original, I would gladly snatch it up instead.
